A Celebration of a Nation in Harmony

What does democracy sound like? At Singing City, it sounds like people coming together — voices of every background, age, and experience uniting in song.

Join us on Saturday, October 26, 2025, at the Friends Center for Democracy in Song, Part II: American Voices — a vibrant evening of choral music that celebrates who we are as a nation through the power of shared sound.

Under the direction of Dr. Rollo Dilworth, the program lifts up a tapestry of American expression, from Indigenous and African American traditions to contemporary works that reflect our ongoing journey toward justice and belonging. Each piece invites us to listen deeply, honor difference, and find common ground in harmony.

Founded in 1948 as one of the nation’s first intentionally integrated choirs, Singing City continues its legacy as a vocal movement for community, equity, and hope. This concert is more than a performance — it’s a call to connection.

Come be part of the song. Experience democracy — not as an idea, but as a living, breathing sound.
